The Rt Hon Jacqui Smith in Pictures: Part III

Early 2009. The pressure is starting to tell. Bags under the eyes, the saggy face, "chins" developing uncontrollably (all over her face) and the "Brown era" thousand yard stare. Only the firmly pinched mouth betrays the "never say die" determination (often mis-read as stupid, mule-like, pig-headed, "not knowing when your arse has been well and truly kicked" stubborn-ness), for which she is so respected.
It was also about this time that Jacqui's hairstylist was finally sectioned under the Mental Health Act, and for some months Jacqui had to make do wearing a dead fox on her head.

The Rt Hon Jacqui Smith in Pictures: Part II

Here is Jacqui in full flow in the H of C. She appears to be "moo-ing" at members of the opposition.

The Rt Hon Jacqui Smith in Pictures: Part I

This photo shows Jacqui in her heyday. Relaxed, amiable and confident, as one of the prominent "Blair Babes" (while I would use "prominent" in its widest sense here, I would myself not use "babe" in any sense at all, as Jacqui is clearly neither an infant NOR attractive in any kind of way), Jacqui showed early promise.
Here she is seen brandishing the Civil Partnerships Bill, in an attempt to make herself look like some kind of liberal. When discussing other issues later in her career, such as identity cards, botched police operations against foreign students and plumbers, and hectoring demands to give the police whatever powers they might want to detain without trial , Jacqui would adopt the trademark stern, sour, unyielding, pinched expression of the natural authoritarian previously modelled by her predecessor John Reed. And Joseph Stalin.
Nice double (triple?) chin there Jacqui! And if you don't think me too forward....let me say you should wear your hair like that more often....

Well, let me start with the fallen.

Some of the New Labour martyrs who have gone down fighting in the last couple of weeks.

I realise

...it might seem a little late in the day to be starting to go on about how great New Labour is after 12 years of frankly amazing government. So where to start? Well, I will inevitably be talking about current affairs/challenges, but will "dip into the archives" to talk about past Labour successes.

So bear with me!!

First things first

What are we about? We're about modern Socialism. The Working Man. Peace. Justice, fairness and integrity in the way we go about things.
